NIN Give Away Another Record
Okay, so I know I gave Reznor some grief for calling Radiohead’s release of In Rainbows a publicity stunt. However, now that it turns out he was right, I am man enough to admit my mistake and promote NIN’s new (also free) record, The Slip. I should receive the album in my email soon, and I’ll attempt to review it soon after.
From NIN:
as a thank you to our fans for your continued support, we are giving away the new nine inch nails album one hundred percent free, exclusively via nin.com.
the music is available in a variety of formats including high-quality MP3, FLAC or M4A lossless at CD quality and even higher-than-CD quality 24/96 WAVE. your link will include all options - all free. all downloads include a PDF with artwork and credits.
for those of you interested in physical products, fear not. we plan to make a version of this release available on CD and vinyl in july. details coming soon.
This is all totally amazing. To give away free copies of a solid quality MP3s - I can’t say enough about how awesome it is that Trent Reznor is committed to this. Album art and all are included, free of charge.
I also loved this tidbit:
the slip is licensed under a creative commons attribution non-commercial share alike license.
we encourage you to
remix it
share it with your friends,
post it on your blog,
play it on your podcast,
give it to strangers,
etc.
You heard the man. Get to remixing, people!
