Effing posers.

From Cnet:

“I think it was a one-off response to a particular situation,” the band’s lead singer Thom Yorke told The Hollywood Reporter. “It was one of those things where we were in the position of everyone asking us what we were going to do. I don’t think it would have the same significance now anyway, if we chose to give something away again. It was a moment in time.”

It was a publicity stunt. It worked to perfection. Radiohead sold all of us a crappy version of their record for pennies, but some people paid much more. Honestly, this is really nasty of Thom to say, and I hope that other fans react as negatively as I feel right now. Radiohead should be above pulling PR stunts to sell records. They have a very loyal fan base, but things like this only serve to strain the connection between band and avid listener.
