Generally I’m not a fan of Pitchfork, but there are times when the extreme amount of seriousness with which they take their music does actually pay off.

This Joe Gibbs Obit is one of those times.

I didn’t know the man, so I won’t claim to be saddened by his death. I feel that just makes a mockery of those who are legitimately impacted by such a loss. What I will say is that the man died a legend, and we should all be so lucky. He also made a lot of great music, and that’s something to be proud of in my book.

It bothers me that this happened last week, but I’m just learning about it now. Bad blogger. No Scooby-snacks.
