So according to the good people over at Space Lab, Portishead will be touring again very soon. There are only a few dates announced so far, and they’re all in Europe, so if you’re a stateside Portishead fan, you can either wait until the U.S. dates are announced or start making plans to take a rather spectacular vacation. However, given that Portishead will supposedly be releasing a record to coincide with this new tour, I would expect that they will tour America as well, as Americans are still known to buy a record or two from time to time.

While I was a big fan of Portishead back in the day, and I still remember seeing them on SNL all those years ago when I was younger, I’m not entirely sure I’m looking forward to another record. I guess diehard fans are excited, but other than that, who still listens to trip hop? I don’t get excited about new Massive Attack records, either, so don’t get mad at me for not digging Portishead. I guess I just think that trip hop is kind of played out. It had its run in the 90s, but now I’m just not sure if there’s a whole lot new under the sun there. Hopefully this record proves me wrong.
